About Sonalisa Mishra

Music has been the foundation of my life since the age of three. Born and raised in India, I began my journey with formal training in Hindustani Classical Music under the Gwalior and Kirana gharanas, alongside Odissi dance. This strong classical foundation continues to shape my artistry and versatility as a performer, vocal coach, creative producer and event professional.

Today, I am the Founder and Creative Director of World Music Night series under the banner of Sonalisa Mishra Productions, based in Brisbane, Australia. I specialise in delivering premium live entertainment, event production and bespoke musical experiences for corporate events, multicultural festivals, charity galas, weddings, private celebrations, and community events across Australia.

As a multilingual singer, I perform a diverse repertoire including Bollywood, Hindustani Classical, Retro, Jazz, Cabaret, Pop, Disco, English classics, and contemporary fusion. Every performance is thoughtfully curated to suit the audience, creating memorable experiences that bring people, cultures, and generations together.

Beyond the stage, I wear many hats. As an experienced vocal coach, I mentor aspiring singers by combining strong classical techniques with practical performance skills, helping students build confidence, refine their artistry, and develop their unique musical identity. As an event host, producer, and creative director, I oversee every aspect of an event - from concept creation and entertainment programming to artist coordination, stage design, lighting, sound, and production - ensuring every event is executed with precision and professionalism.

My passion for music extends beyond entertainment. As a philanthropist, I believe music has the power to create meaningful change. Through my signature annual production, World Music Night, I unite artists, audiences, and businesses to celebrate cultural diversity while raising awareness and funds for charitable organisations. Giving back to the community is at the heart of everything I do, and I am committed to using my platform to make a positive and lasting impact.

Throughout my career, I have released original music, collaborated with renowned Bollywood composers, and recorded multilingual projects that reflect my passion for musical innovation. I was honoured to receive the Australian Icon Award and proudly represented Australia at the 3rd International Indian Icon Show in Chicago - recognition that continues to inspire my artistic journey.
